Ether way will work. Did you mean HCCT? They both can get you to the same place except the Strobospark has more tests built in that can be done with a meter with the proper instructions.

I have all three, an HCCT, a strobo, and an ECCT. The HCCT works well, but is cumbersome to move about, it is mainly for show. I used a strobo for years, but know it is in the shop and used to just test certain things. Once, the dirty work is done, I bring them in the house and use the ECCT. The ECCT is more particular, so more time is needed to set them up, but once properly adjusted, our cars run much better. The ECCT is also portable and much more reasonable than a HCCT.

I use the ECCT to set my coils, it was pricey to purchase but I felt over the long run it would be cheaper. Farmallcub49 is correct, the ECCT is small and compact compared to the HCCT (which I had but sold).

The Strobospark is a superior tool that works flawlessly. Either that or a hand cranked coil tester are the only means to accurately adjust Model T coils.

I just had The Coil Doctor rebuild a set of coils and set them using the ECCT.

My car most likely won't be put back together and running for a few weeks. But when it is, I'll report on how it runs.

And, for what it's worth, I'll be running a new Anderson Timer, Plugs, Plug Wires and Wiring Harness. It's a lot of "new" to throw at a car, but it's really no different than what I typically do with any old car I pull out of long term hibernation (which is...new distributor cap, rotor, points, plugs, wires, etc)
