Can anyone identify this cut-out?
This came on our recently purchased CCPU. It can be used for either positive or negative ground. There's no brand name on it, I googled the P/N and got zilch. It's encapsulated so the inards can't be seen. I'm thinking that it's just a pair of diodes arranged parallel with one one way and one the other way. But then again maybe it's a regulator?
The generator is kinda strange too, it's got 2 wires coming out of it, one is grounded and the other is the output.

With it off the car, a quick Ohmeter test would tell you if it just contains DIODES.

I believe it would have one diode and that's why you switch sides when you switch polarity, as the picture shows. I haven't seen one like that before. The generator is post Model A production, and I see the output wire needs to be replaced.

Re: Can anyone identify this cut-out?
I think I've seen something like that cut-out for sale at one time on eBay.
A guy was selling a lot of tractor/farm equiptment electrical components. Much of it for Delco-Remy stuff. The genny it is mounted on looks like it maybe a Delco? Bob-A |

Re: Can anyone identify this cut-out?
This appears to be made by a company named JIMCO, who apparently does not sell this cut out any longer. At least a search of their web site does not bring anything up.
They make automotive electrical test equipment and some rectifier regulators. Not much help, but more than you had before. |

Re: Can anyone identify this cut-out?
Thanks for the replys. I tested it w/a multimeter and it appears to be just a diode.
