Maybe the answer to my question is in the tread above, but I don't see it. I have recently purchased a nice set of little used AER rods, USA made, with the hope of using them sometime in a future build. Is AER the sole source for the inserts?

To my understanding, yes. And I believe the main inserts also. You might try one of the vendors though. I believe Snyder’s are different. Best answer would be to call AER and ask them or order them if you know the size you need.
