Generator again---Tom W.
I made all of the measurements that were suggested.
1. motors and draws 15 amps when motoring and the motoring is very lame. 2. Insulated the third brush from the commutator and applied negative 6v to the third brush---drew 3 amps with the negative on the third brush. 3. Checked for continuity between the commutator and the shaft of the commutator and it was clear. 4. Checked between opposite segments on the commutator and found good continuity, no apparent problems. Very few OHMS. Yet the generator does not charge except when the motor is at a high RPM and then it's not adequate. Any more thoughts??? Jack |
