Step Bling
My roadster came from the dealer with Step plates, (obviously).
After 84 years they were looking a little sad. A trip to the metal polisher solved that nicely. I think it is $40 well spent. (Yeah I know the phillips hard screws are wrong but given the location I wanted Stainless screws and that is all I could find)

Re: Step Bling
I have never seen a pair of period FORD script step plates before ! (4th photo). They have to be VERY rare !
I know the Ford Motor Company did not make them, that the dealer had them made, but ................ Very nice ! MIKE |

Re: Step Bling
$40. is a very good deal. A good buffing job entails a lot more than what folks think, especially corroded aluminum castings. It can take a lot to get down to good metal without destroying the details of the casting. Those are super step plates!

Re: Step Bling
OK Busted, the drivers side has pretty significant wear, I put it one the wifes/passenger side. The photos are of the one that is now on the drivers side.

Re: Step Bling
Tom, most platers will buff anything for you. Folks seem to think platers only plate. I have a buffing motor I bought from Eastwood years ago and do my own stuff.

Re: Step Bling
Cool plates, dude. It sure does look good to see some "original" step plates on running boards. In stead of all the repop plates that just about everybody has to have on their running boards. I've got a set of original
plates that one day I'll polish up and put on my '29 'The Clown Car' roadster: see my avatar. Bob-A |
