It's a slippery slope...

Front discs means a new M/C, a power brake booster, external residual pressure valves...

Moving the tank means an electric pump, a fuel gauge that doesn't read at all accurately, and the aforementioned issues with a fill pipe.

The stock brakes work pretty well but do require adjusting regularly. Their performance on a '33 car isn't a good measure for a heavier truck, potentially with a load in it.

I've found NAPA to be a great source for brake parts and many other parts, and they are local. If there's a problem with something I can return it with n hassles or shipping costs.

I moved the fuel tank out of the cab on my 52. I have a custom flatbed (wood) and it was easy to locate a "pop-up" filler in the bed. I enjoy the space behind the seat. Lot's of aftermarket tanks available. (Google search)
Everything you consider doing on "your" truck has to be thought out. The folks on this site will be willing to share their knowledge. Lot's is learned by messing up along the way. The real wisdom comes when we can learn from others experiences.
Enjoy the adventure and please share it on this site.

Hello. I am using a Jeep Cherokee tank and a left fender filler.I used a 47 Ford car door for the filler door and I have a 5 degree slope to the tank with a vent up to the filler cap "just below it".
This an on going project that needs to be speeded up if I am ever going to drive it. Check it out here www.1948fordpickup.blogspot.ca.
