Reproduction Hubcaps
In years gone by, it seems that the Manufacturers of Reproduction Hubcaps changed the Wording, or blanked it out, so that they didn't have to pay Royalties to Ford Motor Company or other Car Companies. Take a look at this Reproduction 1941 Mercury Hubcap. What other Hubcaps were mutilated like this back in yesteryear. Luckily, these days, the Reproduction Hubcaps are near perfect copies of the originals. |

Re: Reproduction Hubcaps
I just bought some 46-48 Ford caps that just say FORD made by United Pacific and they sure look nice. Now all they have to do is fit the wheels.

Re: Reproduction Hubcaps
There used to be some NORS '32-'34 four-cylinder caps that spelled out "Bool" or "Fool" in script made to look like Ford at a distance. They were chrome-plated steel rather than stainless steel skinned.

Re: Reproduction Hubcaps
Here is an earlier Reproduction Hubcap for the Model A Ford. As DavidG pointed out, it is hard to tell what it spells? "Bool" or "Fool" in script? |

Re: Reproduction Hubcaps
I always thought the early repop caps that didn't have the name, or had a different name in the same font, were pretty neat even if only as wall hangers. Unfortunately the new reproductions look nice but never seem to fit all that well. I've been banging dents out of swap meet originals and polishing them up. No more offshore junk.
