Default What to do?

On my 1926 ford I have a single pot brake master cylinder. I bought a new similar master cylinder. The major problem is the bore is set to high in the master cylinder. So my question is should I look for the direct replacement that was in my Frankenstein car? Or drill new mounting holes? The problem with new mounting holes is one of them is bolting to the firewall and not a solid steel plate? What say the universe?
Thanks
Jerry

The universe says "your choice". Not to be a wise ass, but, but T models have been getting modified all kind of ways since, probably, the first one got crashed.

While we here appreciate the ingenuity of making life easier and safer, this looks to be a case of how you want to face the task. The guidelines don't exist. Respectfully yours Tom

No problem on your answer. I found master cylinder with the same footprint to bolt onto firewall. The only problem is the parts guy ordered the wrong one. The bore was to large and it was for power brakes. I have four manual drum brakes. Oh well back to the parts house.
Thanks
