1928 Roadster Windshield
Help settle discussion with my friend. I told him the 1928 roadster standard windshield folds out. He says no. Who's right. Thanks. No wager involved.

Yes, they will tilt outward. Sometimes it is had to keep them out if the car is moving fast. You have to tighten the "wingnuts" quite tight.

Re: 1928 Roadster Windshield
Unlike the '30-31 open cars, whose windshield frame and stanchions fold forward and lay flat across the top of the gas tank, the '28-29 open car windshield FRAME swings outward, pivoting at the top of the stanchions, while the tall stanchions remain immobile. They're bolted in place and cannot fold, unless one has a set of the 1960's repo stanchions that were made to fold. Of course, the '30-31 windshield FRAME can swing open in a similar manner without the stanchions going, too. Anyone who has driven a '30-31 open car with the windshield and stanchions lying flat will tell you it is not as much fun as it looks in old photographs! You'll be picking bugs and small rocks out of your teeth the rest of the day.
