U.S.M.C. Veteran, served from from 1983 to 1987 as a Field Band Musician. Was in boot camp when the Marine barracks in Beirut was truck bombed, never went overseas but consider the time I spent the best learning years of my life. Marine Corps Birthday was yesterday, November 10,1775. Semper Fidelis (always faithful). The Marine Corps motto.

95 Bravo 20 - Military Police 1971-1973 I had an easy tour compared to many. "All gave some, some gave all" Always remember the 11th hour of the 11th day of the 11th month. May veterans day ALWAYS be on the that day and never be changed to a Monday Holiday to sell mattresses.

I was at a big classic car show at a large indoor exhibition centre today. At 11 O'Clock the place fell silent for a very well observed 2 minutes silence. Very moving considering the size of the place.

I too want to thank all the veterans for their service. I read mostly history material, and most of that about wartime. I can only imagine the horror of war, but to be honest, I really can't even imagine it. Thank You.

It was my honor to serve during the Cold War, 1959-1963 MCB-11 & ACB-1.
A solemn salute and everlasting gratitude to those who were not so lucky.

I too am thankful for all who served, especially for those who served in combat. I was lucky because when I got drafted in 1957 there was no war going on. I spent most of my time in Germany. I had 2 uncles who served in combat during WWII, but neither were wounded. My oldest son served in the Airforce for 23 years and my youngest granddaughter served in the Marines for 6 years.

THANK YOU to all who have served, to your families and to all of those who gave their last full measure and didn't' make it back - such that we have the freedoms that we do and can enjoy the lives we have led.
