gas tank removal and treatment.

2 questions.... What is the process of removing a tank from a 29 briggs fordor. Doesn't look like fun. And then, is there anyone in the greater Seattle area who can reliably treat and seal the inside? Thanx, Roger

If so there's a 2+ inch section of firewall that first must be removed along with other bolts and hardware, then the tank is dropped out from the bottom. Never done it, but over the years seen a bit. Probably you'll soon get an answer with all the info you need. I'm in PA east of Hershey.

Yeah, this is one of those. But it can't just drop down because top surface of cowl panel prevents that. So I am hoping someone will point out what I am missing.

If you look inside at the side panels you will see brackets that have to be removed to let the tank drop down. I have never taken one out but do know it is not a one man job and the steering is in the way. I also don't know how the tank is attached in the front but do know the tank is a standard 28/29 tank if you need to replace it.
