It had been a long time since I've had a Flathead V-8 engine apart, is this camshaft for a 1940 to 1948 Ford?

I know it is for a Ford V-8. It is stamped Iskenderian 1007 on the end. As I remember it is a Track Grind.

The slot in the front makes me think "YES".

That cam has to be used with the 41 and older dist and 3 bolt cover. Speedway has an adapter spacer to bolt to the 3 bolt cover so you can use the crab dist with that cam. Walt

Can you post a close up picture of the cam where you said it is stamped "Iskenderian 1007"?

I believe that cam will work in the early 21 stud engines, that used cam bearings, up to the '48, 24 stud engines. It could also be used in '49-'53 engines if you wanted to use a front mount distributor. It would use the bolt on type timing gears. Also, that cam could be used with two or three bolt timing gear covers and two or three bolt distributors, as long as the correct spacer/adapter is used.
