i have a keyed steering wheel on a 7 tooth gear anybody heard of this? may be common but i thought 7 tooth gear used splined any thoughts

I've got a splined 30-31 style steering wheel in my collection, its the only one that I have ever seen.

The last few months of 7 tooth columns were keyed, even on RHD columns.

I had a very early 30 phaeton that had the 7-tooth column with a splined 30 wheel

What was the steering wheel attached to the spline? Was it a 30 or a 28? If a 30 I would love to see a pic if possible.
Are you sure it is a 30 wheel you have?

RHD,I no longer have the early 30 phaeton,but it had the 30-31 style steering wheel with splined hub on 7-tooth column with 30-31 style upper column for spark & throttle levers.
