Re: oil drip end steering col
they make an end plate that has a breather tube that stops the leak . they also make a new side plate with a seal in it to stop that leak . .. steve

Re: oil drip end steering col
My 2 tooth also leaks near the frame side. I suspect the cork gasket between the box and the sector, which I still have to replace. I use 25% STP with the 600W to slow the leak down somewhat, until I pull the assembly out next winter.

Re: oil drip end steering col
Mine leaked like a sieve when i got it last year. i got my grease gun out and filled it with reg. grease, it don't leak a drop and it steer's like new.
I know a lot of folk's here will say don't do that because grease will channel and do damage the s/g/b, not so, i have an old military jeep with the same basic gear box, it also leak'ed, i did the same with it [grease] ..thats been 10 years ago, not one drop and it steer's great. I think if Henry Ford would have had the modern day grease that we have today he probley would have used it also. a friend of mine was a motorpool SGT. in the ARMY, he told me that was the standard fix on some of the older vech's. it's an easy fix, and you can alway's rebuild later....then make a mess.
