32 5 window glass
Anyone know the OEM dimentions for the door glass? It looks original, but has always been difficult to roll up or down.....completely disassembled it and regulator seems good....but glass seems too tight in the track. Thanks

Re: 32 5 window glass
They look to be correct. I heard that it is possible for a shop to sand down the glass.

Re: 32 5 window glass
Tempered glass cannot be sanded. Laminated and plate can be sanded. Hopefully they are not plate. Most modern side windows are tempered but vintage can be ??

Re: 32 5 window glass
Local Glass shop won't attempt to cut 1/8 th off the glass..too much time involved with laminated glass...they say I can try wet sanding...anyone ever try this? I think 1/16th to 1/8 on each side will fix the problem.

Re: 32 5 window glass
Try expanding your horizons, look to shops that do glass work but not necessarily automotive in nature. What you need is a shop with a large (wide) belt sander; they should be able to dust off 1/16" on a side for you real quick.
I googled it and saw these guys-Suburban, they have shops in Closter and Ridgewood. I don't know if that's close to you but it's a start. |

Re: 32 5 window glass
When I bought my Deuce, it had one cracked doorglass. I found a company on google who provided the glass with the correct date code on it. It fit perfectly. It didn't cost that mucj either. Maybe one of the felts isn't in the channel properly. Make sure you don't try to use the window riser handle without putting the pin through it or you will ruin it like I did.
