They remain a formidable competitor.....so at 120+ years in the business, Timken is doing something right. I will tell you this, outside their F-150 contract they are pretty much NOT in the OE automotive business as a Tier 1. That leaves them as a force to be reckoned with in the aftermarket sector...... where ALL their money is actually made. |

Re: 6 Volt battery
Where I live now there is at least a half dozen metal manufacturing and machining companies. Prototyping and full scale manufacturing up to 3a cnc.
Timkin bearings has always been a name to trust. Still have extras from a 5yr old buy, I bought two sets when I needed 1. Now days, ya never know how things are changing or if they are going to be there. I like having a set of wheel bearings and races sitting there if needed. It's less then $100 bucks and unless you store them outside, you will have them when needed. Last edited by Tinker; 02-25-2019 at 10:02 PM. |

Re: 6 Volt battery
Lenny51,
You will be very happy with the 6V Optima battery. I have one in my 36 Ford Roadster. The power of this battery really spins the engine for an easy start! Make sure you use a remote cut off switch and use it faithfully to prevent possible discharge. Gnolnor |

Re: 6 Volt battery
My 6 volt Optima battery in my 38 Coupe finally needs to be replaced after 15 years. Never put it on a maintainer and until recently, it always had a good charge. Ordered a new one, hope it lasts 15 years like my current one.
