master cylinder rebuild
I rebuilt the master cylinder on my 48 coupe, cleaned and honed the cylinder (on bench vise), soaked the kit parts in clean fluid, installed the kit, added clean fluid to reservoir and waited for leaks, after a few minutes it started leaking through the front, what did I do wrong?

Re: master cylinder rebuild
I usually rub a little grease on the edges of the rubber seals when installing into a clean, dry cylinder both master and wheel cylinders.

Re: master cylinder rebuild
When you say FRONT do you mean where the brake lines connect?

Re: master cylinder rebuild
No, front on my car means where the push rod for brake pedal is inserted

Re: master cylinder rebuild
instead of grease, lube the seals and cylinder walls with brake fluid.

Re: master cylinder rebuild
Thanks Jake, I took everything apart applied brake fluid to the parts put it back together, no leaks, I think the first seal was not seated all the way.
