Floormat Attachment
My front floormat is a carpet made by Lebaron Bonney which has a heavy woven backing. I am looking for suggestions on how to attach this carpet to the floor using the floor mounted attachment pins. I have tried using the press on type gripper rings offered by the parts suppliers. The supplied rings are suppose to firmly grip the carpet material but will not on my carpet. The gripper rings look like they will work but only on thinner material.
Thanks |

Re: Floormat Attachment
did you try flattening the prongs thru the carpet and flatten on back side of carpet? Just a thought.

Re: Floormat Attachment
Yes, that is the problem the prongs are not long enough to go through the carpet to allow then to be bent.

Bob, I just have to say that your illustrations add so much to so many topics. Thank you so darn much!

Re: Floormat Attachment
Those two piece ones are not the original style and don't work well IMO no matter how hard you try to get the prongs over. For a 30 Phaeton I just did I wound up buying the original style ones from berts that work much better.

Re: Floormat Attachment
Chrs1961815, I will try your suggestion. The ring I have has 3 prongs and are not long enough to engage with the mating locking piece. I will use Bob's method for compressing them. Thanks
