Well the basket case 29RPU that sat in my garage for 30 years until I started working on it in August, started right up on the first try today. After at least 50 years in pieces it all came together. Had the expected hose and water pump leaks to get stopped. The float on the carb is sticking, so Ill try a different needle valve. I couldn't seem to get any adjustment on the carb, so I still have work to do, but by golly she ran. Starts right up after half a rotation.
I have to thank you all who have tolerated my novice questions the last several months during the chassis rebuild, and contributed to this great day. Feels extra special when you know you did it all with your two hands. Again the expert advice was invaluable and much appreciated. |

There should be a tang on the float to keep it from dropping too low. Sometimes this will happen and the float will stick open.

Great start! It is fun to hear it run after all those years. Mine sat for about 60 years before I got around to rebuilding it. Have fun.
