Default 1935 coupe access behind seat

Can some one please explain how you'd gain access to the space behind the seat on a 5w coupe. According to the 35-36 ford book, this space was accessible through the front of the truck. But the issue is the previous owner has the interior redone, and it looks to me like they decided to not do the job right. Can some one please sent me some pictures of how it was meant to be. (Or explain please)

Thanks you
-shad

I am not sure exactly what the '35-'36 book states about trunk access but my '35 5 window coupe (and every original '35 coupe and roadster I have seen), does NOT have in-cab access to the trunk. However, the '36 does. There have been posts in the past (use "search"), about converting a '35 to operate like a '36. I have tried it but it is not as simple as just adding hinges to the back cushion. A '36 is pictured below.

Shad, Page 45 of the 35-36 Book says "In 1935, the backrests in Coupes and Cabriolets was rigid. Storage was behind the seat and accessible through the trunk or rumble seat area."

I've read that, so am I misunderstanding, the storage was behind the seat and accessible through the truck.

I understand that as you can gain access to the storage behind the seat through the trunk.

Yes, You have to climb into the trunk or rumble seat area to gain access to the area behind the seat in 35 coupes.

So as you can see in my picture attached. There is a divider between the truck and passenger compartment. Is that designed to be removed? Or does it belong there at all? .

View thru the truck of my kid's '36. Wide open to the seat. The flaps on the bottom and rear edge of the seat side panels were added by the PO back in the '50s to seal the interior from the trunk; normally there are open gaps along the sides.

Shad, While the divider is very neat, it does not belong there in an original 35 coupe with trunk.
