Default Any experience with Idaho Antique Engines?

I was wondering if anyone has had any experience with Bud Cheney, Idaho Antique Engines? I am in need of an engine rebuild and have had a couple of people recommend him. I know that there are a lot of reputable shops further to the east and west, but I thought I would check with 'local' builders first and see if I like what I find out. Any input or experiences would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!

My car a 29 coupe has a engine built by Bud Cheney .. Over 8000 miles and runs good ... Bud puts a metal I.D. plate on all his engines with a phone # . I called him once about something regarding the motor . He keeps a file on all rebuilds and was able to give me what I needed .. don't think you will go wrong with a Cheney engine .... Ed

Re Bud Cheney, the plate I had on an engine read 1986 as the job number.

I am wondering if this is the actual job number or he puts the year he rebuilt it in that spot .

Has anyone got an engine from him which could clarify this ?
