Power valve question..!
Hi all!
I have a new Ford Holley 94 carburetor power valve, but one has (S) stamped and the other has (8) stamped. Are their sizes? Or It is an identification? What does It means? Thank for answering. Harylufa!

Re: Power valve question..!
They serve as on-off valves and do not meter amount of gas...the metering is the restriction in the passages in the casting.
8 is a recent sort of marking denoting vacuum level that moves the valve. S--that MIGHT be one of the marks used by Ford fro the few different versions for 8, 12, or 60, but I do not have the letter symbols here. Be sure valve has the ring for gasket in the right place to match carb, as the ones for some 4-barrel models differ from what you need |

Re: Power valve question..!
I would not use either one,the 8 oneis too high a number and the s means nothing.Use a 5.5 # one. ken ct.

Re: Power valve question..!
HI Bruce and Ken!
Here I post a pic where you can see different valves. A is a Holley valve, but where gasket is installed is quite different. B is other valve that I bought the seller told me is 65, not written (?) C is from Holley carburetor I bought in USA (S) I have two the other is (8) not in pics, same like C valve. Ken I am going to buy a 5.5 valve as you say. You know I have installed a Holley 2100 and I prefer install 91-99 carb that is disassembled now. This carb is nearer to Model 59, at least I read. Reading over there about carb there are some technical information that i do not know. For example, Holley 2100, 1934 to 1953 (Is this generic) Sorry but am confused, Thanks for reading and help. Re: Power valve question..!
Yes they are generic carbs. The 91-99 carb is a 40-41 carb. #59 is right for your car. Those are all older PV's and wont hold up to this corn gas. Buy a fresh #5.5 one. Do you have a carquest parts dealer in your area. Ask for a FM728D it will be the correct one i use by the dozens and work very well with the correct gasket on it. ken ct.

Re: Power valve question..!
I changed to a 5.5 on Ken's recommendation two years ago. One of the best things I have done. Thanks Ken.
