I put in a 37 banjo steering wheel and made the horn and lights work off the steering knob. I put in a 36 LB Flathead V8 because my 4 banger block developed a crack in the outside water jacket (should be an easy fix). With that I rebuilt a mid year serial number 1939 3 speed tranny. Put about 2500 miles on it in last 3 weeks or so....well i haven't driven it this week much. It's been raining and I've had to work a lot. Drove is to Springfield, MO and back a couple times...250 miles each. Drove it across Arkansas to Sandsprings, OK and then up to Owasso, OK and back across Arkansas. About 900 miles round trip Then through AR, Tennessee, and on into Louisville, KY. Stayed the weekend at the Streetrod Nats and drove it all the way back home from Louisville on Sunday...almost 500 miles on Sunday. About 1000 miles round trip. Then the next Saturday I drove it back across Missouri to the HAMB drags at MOKAN Speedway, north of Joplin, raced that afternoon and then drove it back to Springfield, MO and checked out the swap meet on Sunday. Then back to the house in AR. About 315 miles on Saturday not including 4 passes at the drag strip then another 135 miles on Sunday. About 450 miles round trip. They didn't get the message that the HAMB Drags were coming to town! Well I guess it was more like 3000 miles in 3 weeks. Most of that with my better half along side. She's a fun lady that's for sure. She would have been with me on all of them but she couldn't make the MOKAN trip with me because of family matters. She certainly wanted to though. Kids along for a good part of that too. (11 and 4 years)......yes it's a fun car!!! Resting peacefully back in the shop! |

Re: Official Ford Barn Deuce 1932 FORD Picture Thread
Here is my 32. Several years ago I was rebuilding a doodle bug that my father had and stopped by Harvey Prices house in Lunenburg Mass to get some advice on the model A engine. Before I knew it we had the engine running and I had fallen in love with his AA truck. I wanted one and started looking. A couple of months went by while I was searching he mentioned he had a BB I could buy. I really wanted a model a but he talked me into the model BB. I had no idea of the desire for 1932 Fords but I am very glad he convinced me to buy it. We restored it and found a B engine to power it.
It has a heil body and a little slow on the hills, but I love it.

Re: Official Ford Barn Deuce 1932 FORD Picture Thread
This car was owned locally for many years. We had admired the car since we had first seen the car in approximately 1967ish and knew then that it was a very RARE Deuce then. In 1970 my dad met Lorin Sorensen at Hershey and he asked my dad about the car and if he would go take some pictures for him. We did..enter picture one. 34 years later, by chance (and luck) the opportunity presented it's self to purchase the car and the deal was done. 14 months later it was on "The Green" with 7 other custom coach Ford's at the 2004 Pebble Beach Concours De'Elegance.

[
I saw this 32 Ford in Australia in the late sixties. It was being used as a Fishing Vehicle on the beach. Driving on the salt sand would not do this car any good and it probable rusted away. All the vehicles that you see here were most likely only used on the weekends, and for the rest of the time just sat here with apparently no damage or loss. How times have changed. Try leaving a 32 Ford in the bush next to a beach these days and see how long it would last? |

Re: Official Ford Barn Deuce 1932 FORD Picture Thread
Uncle Buck, I am new to adding photos in a large format and am receiving tuition from a Ford Barner. Unfortunately, when I first added these pictures in Test, I never saved them there, so that disappeared here. Hopefully, the picture is saved this time around? Mercman from Oz <><

Re: Official Ford Barn Deuce 1932 FORD Picture Thread
Another work in progress and going to drive as a survivor as soon as I replace the non 32 parts. Looking for an amp gauge if someone has one to sell
So far found head lights, a decent hood, horn, commercial grille with the commercial radiator cap and a wire kit from Tyree Last edited by hb32; 08-14-2015 at 11:53 AM. |

Re: Official Ford Barn Deuce 1932 FORD Picture Thread
Here are some pics of my basket-case 5-window - sorry for no full-on shots but she is rough. The one pic shows the GOOD side! Modified 4-door roof has been used after a very bad chop left the roof useless (or so I ws told) and then an un-chop of the car. Plans for the car are more in tune for the HAMB site but it is a deuce none-the-less!
I will try and save as much of the original sheet metal as possible but thank goodness United Pacific has now re-popped all of the parts I am sure I will need .... |
