My Roadster in a painting
A local western artist, Chris Mummert, used my roadster as a prop in an oil painting he recently finished. The work is great, IMHO, perhaps I'm biased. It is 60" x 40", the largest he's tackled to date, and is hanging in the Sanders Gallery in Tucson Arizona. The prep work he went thru to capture an image he had was amazing, using correct period clothes and even tack for the horse.
I just added a post from the artist of his path from idea to final painting. Last edited by Vern; 12-03-2016 at 06:06 PM. Reason: Add photo |

Re: My Roadster in a painting
What a great painting! I remember seeing another painting of a cowboy, a horse and a Model A pickup on a prairie somewhere out west. It would be great if someone could provide a link to that well-known and iconic painting.

That's incredible! I'll never understand how people can do a painting so well that it could pass for a photograph. People must be especially hard to do, but they are perfect in this painting.

I'm always amazed at how some people are able to do this stuff and I couldn't agree more with the lst few words of your post. Those ladies are not too shabby at all.

too many people, not enough car. The car seems to be very secondary to the entire scope. If I owned the car the picture would not interest me. Wayne
