I didn't see the original post but regarding MI plates for old cars - I just got my YOM (year of make) tag registered for my '56 Fairlane from the Secty of State about 2 weeks ago. $35, non-expiring. Ron

Yep, I also run a YOM plate on Big Olds and have had it for about 9 years now. One time $35 fee, non-expiring. Because my birthday is coming up I just got my renewal in the mail for my daily driver. If they are going to change the way they do things for the YOM plates I haven't heard about it or gotten notification. I'd like to hear more though if changes are in the works.

I also run YOM plates. First an "Antique Plate" must be purchased ($15.00 charge no expiration).
Next, must send a paper copy of the plate to the Deputy Registrar. They will send you a registration sheet verifying the YOM plate.
The "Antique Plate" needs to be kept in vehicle to verify original registration paper work.

In WV, the rate is $35.00 for 10 years. They give you a sticker but you can carry it in the glove box rather then sticking it on the plate.
