replacing tires
I'm about to replace my tires and wonder if I should replace the tubes too. I know tubes have been a lot of trouble in the past. I'm planning on using A&Ls metal stems. Where should I buy the best rubber stem tubes?

Re: replacing tires
I think your choice is Vietnam or china, Not sure if any United States of America tubes are made.

Re: replacing tires
The tubes you have may be better than what you can replace them with.

Re: replacing tires
inflate the tubes and look for bubbles on them or cracks or checks, if none use them, the other guys are right, yours a probably better than any new ones you can buy

Re: replacing tires
From posts over the past year it sounds like Bert's sells good inner tubes.

Re: replacing tires
Today i replaced an antique tube that went flat because the valve stem fell off. The last remaining vintage tube has a little cracking around the valve stem but not as bad as the other one that went flat. My question is, should i replace that tube too? Or rely on hoping the old one is still better?

Re: replacing tires
I got mine from Bert's about a year ago and never understood the "cheap tube" issue everyone was talking about. These had good thick ribber without any blemishes or problems. I even had a huge puncture from running over a tool in my garage... just patched the tire and tube and went on. As far as I can tell they are good tubes.
I did cut the rubber valve stems off and replaced them with metal. No adhesive, just tightened down and they have held air ever since.

Re: replacing tires
I have had good luck with Goodyear tubes on the sedan. The roadster pickup has larger 19" tires than stock but they came with radial tubes to go with the tires and are great, they had the metal valve stems already. Got them from Coker, they are Excelesor I think.
