Fun Car Games for our Club's 40th Birthday & Summer Picnic
I am looking for some really fun car game suggestions. We will be situated in an ideal park with plenty of room to play. I'm hoping to have at least 10 - 15 cars participate and to keep the window for the game time for all participants under one hour. I would love to hear what your club does? Thanks!

Re: Fun Car Games for our Club's 40th Birthday & Summer Picnic
In a different car club we had a game where the driver was blindfolded, and the passenger...(not the spouse!!) gave directions to navigate through a series of small soccer cones.
Done very slowly of course and in a wide open grass area! Creeper races are fun.... Someone had an old cylinder head and we installed 4 spark plugs as fast as we could...shortest time won.

Re: Fun Car Games for our Club's 40th Birthday & Summer Picnic
I was in one with a friend of mine where I drove and she leaned out of the window holding a plate that had cups and saucers filled with water. I had to dive a short distance, over speed bumps and she had to hold the plate without spilling the cups. I think we did it several times, each time a cup was added until she dropped them. I don't think time was an issue if I remember right.

You can shut the gas valve off all at the same time, and see witch car runs the longest

For kids:
50/100 yard wheel roll Use a spare tire, have the kids roll it 50/100 yards (your choice), 1st one across the line wins. Sometimes hilarious depending on how big the kids are (don't let them be to small tho, I've seen some little ones land on the wheel when they lose control of the wheel, most of those kids don't cry...much)

Hang a golf ball from the front bumper. The hole is a coffee can some distance away. Every time you get out to see how close you are, it's a stroke.

Fun Car Games for our Club's 40th Birthday & Summer Picnic
Get a big inflatable ball (4-5' across) and set up some goal posts a few hundred feet away, fastest time to score a goal wins
Use pool noodles on the bumpers to save popping the ball |

Re: Fun Car Games for our Club's 40th Birthday & Summer Picnic
This game will require two persons per car. Each car will have one person sitting in the car and the second person will be approx 20 yards away.
The group of people away from the car are blind folded (A two gallon plastic bucket over the head works well). The blind folded group complete 2 or 3 turns on the spot to dis-orientate them. Then on the count of three the people in the car start blowing their Horns. The first owner to correctly identify their car by placing their hands on the horn is the winner. Stand back and enjoy the laugh.

Re: Fun Car Games for our Club's 40th Birthday & Summer Picnic
Since any competition where we compete against the clock was banned by insurance companies (after 9/11), we have driving skill tests. Mark out an imaginary garage with tape and ask people to park within it. Nearest centre wins. The same with parallel parking. Another is put a short flat piece of wood on something round and ask people to drive onto the ramp. The one who stops with the board closest to horizontal wins. Another fun one is: spike 4 paint tin lids to the ground in a straight line. The driver is given a set of instructions like "front left, rear right, front right, rear left" He has to drive along the line with his wheels going over a lid in that order. Then there is the board mounted vertically with two buttons on it at bumper height so one is slightly closer to the car than the other. The first lights a light, the second sounds a horn. The object is to get the light lit but no sound from the horn. Quickest wins.

Re: Fun Car Games for our Club's 40th Birthday & Summer Picnic
I dunno but they put a stop to anything they thought might be at all risky. It took a lot of talking to get them to understand that in a slow "race" the last car to finish won. That was too much for their cotton pickin minds to grasp. The word "race" meant to them that it had to be competing against the clock.

Re: Fun Car Games for our Club's 40th Birthday & Summer Picnic
Using a scrap cylinder head and spark plug, ask the participants to tighten the plug to the "proper" amount. Check the results with a torque wrench. Plan to be surprised at the variation in results. Then ask them to repeat, making believe it is an aluminum head. You can make it a game by stating a target torque (ft-lbs) and closest to target wins. You can also have them do it with a short wrench and then a long one.
