Red Primer Paint
I was planning to use a primer in the red oxide color because that color was used originally by Ford in 1932. Paint supplier here says its not available anymore - apparently discontinued a year or two ago. Is it really gone?

Re: Red Primer Paint
Southern Polyurethanes has an epoxy primer available in various colors including red oxide. I have not used their epoxy primer before but a painter friend has and said it is a great product. It is made in the USA.

David, not sure I understand your point. When I first stripped my Tudor in 1964 or so, it had red oxide colored primer that was a bit hard to remove by chemical stripping. I assumed it was original, maybe I was mistaken. So, if not red, what was used at the factory? Thanks.

Re: Red Primer Paint
Some red, but mostly dark gray on the thirty plus or so that I have had.

Re: Red Primer Paint
Thanks. I'll relax my search for red!
