Re: 1932 Phaeton AACA and Dearborn Winner For Sale
Since the claim is made as to the month of production, it would be nice to see some photos of the engine compartment to see if it is consistent with that claim.
Thanks. |

Dave
I noticed what looks like a fine red stripe between the two silver stripes. I think the silver is correct but not the red. What say you ? 32Phil |

Phil,
The red stripe likely was added after the Amelia Island auction in 2009 as both Bruce and Grant know/knew better. Dave |

I think the rules of the forum state that the non-stop critique of this fellow member's car is not supposed to happen.

Thank you so much 130driver. while I appreciate 32 info as much as the next member, it was getting to the point of pretentious snobbery, as if ALL 32 posts and info are supposed to flow a certain member or two. I am simply listing the car for sale for my friend, which received a score of 995 out of 100. And this is the Swap Meet side of the site, not the Forum, all ghe best, D

Re: 1932 Phaeton AACA and Dearborn Winner For Sale
Exactly the point, Digger. You have it listed for sale for a third party and you have made a specific claim in the ad for the car, which is not substatiated by the photos that the seller has provided. As for 130driver's statement, I seriously doubt that any such rule exists when it comes to questions about the accuracy of claims made about cars "for sale" on this site, especially those listed for third parties.
When knowledge becomes "pretentious snobbery", maybe it's time to start building bonfires for the purpose of burning books. |

DaavidG needs a time out. Or maybe a life. Why don't you call with any questions like the post says.

Re: 1932 Phaeton AACA and Dearborn Winner For Sale
Reading this thread reminds me why I hardly get on the Fordbarn and stay on the Hamb. Who honestly gives a shit about the red stripe especially since he marked it "sale pending" on the 13th. Furthermore 95% of the people who want to knock it probably aint got the cash to get it. On a lighter note NICE CAR I wouldnt knock it if it was in my garage.

Re: 1932 Phaeton AACA and Dearborn Winner For Sale
I know Bruce for many years and the car. I don't remember a red stripe on the car. My question was not intended as a knock on the car or the seller or the process etc. I was merely curious as to the correctness of the stripe. I enjoy the Ford Barn & the Jalopy Journal equally well. I have restored cars and Hot Rods. What anyone does with their cars is fine with me. Sharing knowledge & info freely is what it's all about. Relax everyone and enjoy the Forums. Good luck on the Sale. Also,I for one appreciate the depth of knowledge Dave brings to this forum......Thank You Dave.
