Is an air operated grease gun useful when working on a Model A?
From a practical standpoint, is an air operated grease gun useful for working with a Model A? Can anyone share their experience with such a grease gun?

If it is useful, can anyone share a manufacturer and model number that tends to work well?

I could not live without one, they are great. I have been using this one for about 8 years.

Once a year our club takes over a lube shop for "lube day." Several lifts and several pneumatic professional quality grease guns. We get 15 or more cars and go to lunch after. The members who are less maintenance savvy get help from those who are. The pneumatic grease guns are great and make things to fast.

I prefer the battery powered Lincoln grease gun. Sometimes you need grease where you don’t have an air source.

I have an air powered grease gun and have been using it for 10 years. I don't want to miss them anymore and would buy them again at any time.

Air grease gun is way ahead of a manual grease gun. I went battery powered 5 years ago and I wouldn’t want to use anything else.

This era grease gun is faster and easy to use with one hand, no adapters needed

Due to the volume necessary, I find the air grease gun especially useful for filling the driveshaft/transmission coupling clamshell following maintenance.

I use a Lincoln air powered grease gun on my Model A's and early V8's but I have never had good success with it on the early style fittings and the adapter. I use my era style gun like Kurt posted for those.

It's so much easier to use an air grease gun when lying under the car. One hand for cleaning and wiping excess grease and the other hand for shooting grease.

I had never heard of a battery powered grease gun until this thread. If I used a grease gun more often, I’d probably give that a whirl, but I’ve have battery operated power tools before that I haven’t used much, and the batteries to go bad for me. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Once it warms or works in, cornhead liquifies and can leak. The assembly seals need to be tight IMO.
We'd like to find a grease gun that doesn't eventually leak when stored ! |

I does flow. That’s what makes it work so well. Designed to be used in farm machinery gears. |

John Deere Corn Head grease. We used it by the barrel at the JD Harvester Wks. on new corn heads. That was the whole idea behind it's development: provides grease protection without leaking out of loose or worn connections. Like 600W does on a standard Model A Ford steering box. |
