Seafoam Rules
Kind of Model A related
My chain saw which worked when I put it to bed not too long ago refused to start even with copius amounts of ether and I was about to take it to the shop. I popped the cover and added Sea Foam down the throat as well as into the tank, 1 oz for maybe a qt in the tank, and VA ROOOOM ! It works perfectly now. If you live in an ethanol prone area, consider one oz of Sea Foam per gallon of gas for your tank if you wish to prevent ethanol gumming. This is maybe the fourth time it has saved me from taking a device to the power equipment shop for a gummed up fuel system. Fortunately I drive the Model A all year long, so the gum hasn't gotten to it. |

Re: Seafoam Rules
I have used for all my 2 cycle engines for three years. It is the only way to keep some of these cheap carbs working. Also use in my Roadster in every tank full. You just have to see what this ethanol did to boat motors in the past to realize you should use this stuff!

Re: Seafoam Rules
Seafoam is amazing stuff. I always add it before putting any of my power equipment away for the season; leaf blower, lawn mower, snow thrower, motorcycle, and now the Model A.

Re: Seafoam Rules
Advance Auto in this area just had the 16oz bottles on sale for $3.99.. The last I bought was from Tractor Supply, they had it mis-marked for $37/gal so I bought all they had..

Re: Seafoam Rules
Correct me if I am wrong. There are 8 16oz bottles in a gallon. At $3.99/16oz bottle that is $31.92/gallon. $37 for a gallon from Tractor Supply is not a bargain compared to $31.92 at Advance

Re: Seafoam Rules
What does that have anything to do with making it cheaper?
You are correct that there are 32oz/qt (4qts=1gal) There are also 16oz/pint (8 pints=gallon) The Advance Auto price was for 16oz (pint) bottles. Thus 8 pint bottles/gallon at $3.99/bottle is a gallon cost of $31.92 at Advance. How can $37/gallon at Tractor Supply be a 'mis-marked' bargain? |

Re: Seafoam Rules
The time frame is quite different.. I bought the gallons some time ago when most places were selling 16oz cans for $8-9 and no one was having a sale that I knew of.. Now in this area they are $9-10.. The recent sale at Advance lasted for only about a week and there was a limit here of 1 per costumer/sale and the price there is now $9.99.. At the time I bought from Tractor Supply a gallon would have been $57 and was mis-marked at $37 [$64 to $72 at the 16oz price], so , I thought I was doing good..
