The brake pedal moves away from the switch, not towards it.

I realize the pedal moves away from the switch. I was referring to the brake pedal stop.

I agree. I think you should check the pedal travel... I'm pretty sure it's going to hit either the switch or welded in bracket. I KNOW it will while bleeding your brakes.
