You can view the earlier distributor gaps, to find one with gaps around 0.030, the mechanic knows there is a problem.

Terry, I spent a few moments earlier today looking for, no doubt, the same bulletin you refer to. There is, as you state, a specification and I too recall it being close. I thought it was about .010".
