Default 1931 Rootlieb Running Boards Report

If you thought I gave up on this project you are WRONG! I have been very busy but I have had this project still in my mind so here is an update! Finally! First of all, a couple of years ago we tried to get Rootlieb to make another run of 31 boards and he did but he only made 40 sets of them. This was not good enough. But we did find him another rubber guy and he moved the machinery to the new place and is very happy with this new vendor. So we did some good there. Here is the "REALLY GOOD PART"!!!!!
At Hershey I once again approached Tom, the owner of Rootlieb, and asked him about making some more 31 boards. He said to see him in about a year so I was just following up on our conversation of last year at Hershey.
He said in the next year (2013) he has a few things to finish and then he will make one last run of 31 boards and he will make 500 sets!!!
This is good news!!!!YYEEAA!! I asked him if he needed our list of names and he said no. He will make the boards and he will advertise them in the publications so be ready. I hope you did not think I forgot as I know this was most important for many of you 31 owners. I hope this will now work out where will all get our boards. Thanks for waiting and having the patience with me to git er dun! I did not talk price and I know they will not be cheap....... but at least we can get them! Please spread the word to all who were interested,
Thanks,
Ken

I was one of those who missed out on the last order. I will be one who places an order when they are ready.

You are all welcome and I hope this works this time so all can get what they need. Of course, when I see the add I will post asap on the Barn to notify so have your check ready. I am hoping this will happen maybe in the spring or summer.......My fingers are crossed LOL!

Glad to hear he is going to make some more. I was lucky enough or quick enough to get one of the 40 sets. I used it on the roadster pick up project, they look great.

Talking Re: 1931 Rootlieb Running Boards Report

Hi John,
I heard they were better than before so this is good.
When I first heard that he made 40 sets I immediately notified the first 40 on my list that they were currently being sold. I only thought it was the fair thing to do. So about 40 people got the running boards and I was not one of them......So the quest continued and now 500 will be made and we can ALL get them.
It is a great day,
Thanks to Tom from Rootlieb for stepping up and making them. He said when he gets them done he will advertize them for sale probably next summer,
Please tell all who wanted them and spread the word they are coming,
Ken
