Rootlieb 1931 running board update
I talked to Rootlieb the other day and a good friend got a call today and they are SHIPPING the long awaited 1931 Ford Running Boards.
I know some of you have waited a couple of years and the day has finally arrived. Our patience has finally paid off. If you have not ordered your set please do so now as a limited number have been made.... Ken |

Re: Rootlieb 1931 running board update
I received the call yesterday. Apparently, some folks are requesting that the boards be shipped with some component unassembled. I'm a visual learner and didn't quite understand the point of them coming with some assembly required.
Anybody want to weigh in on this? I asked them to ship mine fully assembled. |

When mine came (from the other limited run) I had to install the zinc trim. I can't imagine them meaning the attachment to the apron and fender.

Re: Rootlieb 1931 running board update
The boards are returning from the vulcanizing company that has the machine with the die in it that forms the rubber and sets the rubber up on the Steel.(vulcanizing)
The piece that is separate is the outer molding because some members want to buy the molding from Bob Burdick who makes the exact copy of the outer molding. Unfortunately Bob is not currently making them but is supposed to start back up pretty soon that way I understand it. I certainly hope he does as I need some 30 moldings! |
