David Pearson
Just heard that David Pearson has died today. He came to Dawsonville every year untill the last few. He always had a nice Early Ford V8. He was a pleasure to talk to . May he R.I.P.

Re: David Pearson
that makes three local to us Nascar legends to pass in the last few years, they along with Raymond Parks came to a small local museum to participate in a birthday party for Raymond. Sure was a good time and lots of early V8 Ford race cars at JB Days Riverbend Racing Museum

Re: David Pearson
I've always enjoyed attending the Dawsonville Moonshine Festival, and meeting David Pearson there several years ago was very special to me. Rest in peace David.

This pic was taken at the motel with me and David in front of my 40 Convertible a few years back at the Moonshine Festival.

Re: David Pearson
Ahh the good old days of NASCAR. Real drivers in real race cars. I used to go to two or three races every year. Nowadays I wouldn't walk across the street to see one even if it was free!

Re: David Pearson
Hard to see your hero's grow old. Like the story of the Wood Brothers stopping to see him awhile back. Something to the effect they stopped at his house and had the 1971 Mercury he won 13 out of 18 races in 1973 parked down the street. They fired it up and even not being able to see it he said "Mercury!". Still knew the sound of the car even with his health issues.
