Default Victoria roof moldings

The victoria roof moldings get painted upper body color. What about the round rubber strip the goes in the middle of the molding from the front around the back, Is it painted or left black rubber?

I do not agree that the roof molding on the 190A was upper body color. In my opinion, the molding was originally black. The rubber remains in its natural color, black. I believe that the body was painted before the roof was installed.

I`m with Bob on this one on the one that goes around the opening on the steel back. but the molding over the header that gets closed up gets paint upper body color. I have always wondered how the factory did that molding. I have done quit a few of them after the body is painted and it is a pain with out damaging the paint on the header.

I've seen fine point both ways
My original Vic(now on Vince website after sold to the late David Moore ) was black so nothing exacting there
All I could attest to is the rubber was not painted and the molding had black paint.
But don't know before or after paint

Thanks for the answers. I also found it in the judging standards and realized my mistake in my first reading. As all the reproduction moldings are aluminum and the judging standards says aluminum are painted body color I was forgetting the originals were aluminum for the front and steel for the sides. The judging standards says steel moldings were painted to match the black roof material.

I suspect that the roof molding pieces (2 on the 190A) for the Steel-Back were preformed because the corner curves could not have been readily formed at installation on a production line basis. The seam was centered over the rear window.

We need to hear from an owner of an original Steel-Back 190A that has an upper body color that is other than black.
