shaking front end
I was returning home from a car show this afternoon when the front end started shaking. sort of scared me. I pulled over and checked the front wheels. I grabbed the wheel to see if there was any play. There was none. I looked around at the perches, drag link shocks. every thing seem fine. I started the model A up and drove the rest of the way home with no problems.
Has anyone experienced this and what could it be? |

Re: shaking front end
Do a search on "Death Wobble" here. It has been discussed MANY times.
BTW, what oil do you use??! Here's one result to that search. https://www.fordbarn.com/forum/showt...t=death+wobble

Re: shaking front end
The first thing I'd do is make sure the toe-in is 1/16" and make sure the front wheel bearings aren't too loose. My temporary front axle is worn very sloppy, but I've never had the death wobble.

Re: shaking front end
check for tightness in the wishbone on the axle and at the back end of it.

Re: shaking front end
I had a death wobble in my coupe. Could not stop it from occasionally happening until I replaced the rubber ball mentioned in post #6 with an original system. This affected the caster and the original system fixed it. Went for several yers until I sold it.. never a problem again.
