1942 pickup cab mounting wood.
Hello guys,
Need some help here. Need dimensions of the cab mounting wood blocks for a 1942-47 1/2 ton. I did have the info but lost it with a bloody computer melt down! Had printed a couple of copies, can't find um for the life of me. Need to confirm that what's on my truck ain't squished down, I think they are. Any help will be greatly appreciated, Many thanks, Martin. |

Mine are in good shape and pretty much exposed. I could make a drawing sometime today, but might have to wait til after work.

That would be great, it's the long block under the front cab mounting that I need confirmation on the thickness (hight) of please.

Re: 1942 pickup cab mounting wood.
Sorry for the delay. The blocks are 14 3/4" long. The thickness of the material is 1 5/8". That would be side to side dimension as mounted. This 1 5/8" seems constant front to back. At the frint end the block is 1 3/4" thick and at the rear it is 3/4" thick. The first hole is centered at 1 1/8" from front end. There may be some curvature to the taper, but hard to see as is mounted. There is a rubber/fabric pad like belting about 1/4" thick under the block at the two mounting surfaces. Hope this helps. GB.

Re: 1942 pickup cab mounting wood.
That 1/4" could add up to some bad door gaps.
