Default stupid question

in my last post i asked about changing the rear in my 64 ranchero can i just change the axels to a v8 axel with out opening a can of worms just a thought

I know the Speedway catalog has pictures of rear pumpkin gaskets so you can see if you have an 8" or 9" rear axel. There still plenty of Granda & Monarck 8" rears in yards that will fit. No questions are stupid. Sometimes the answers are thou.

I would think the easier route would be to swap out the whole rearend instead of trying to find V8 axles that would fit without other problems cropping up with miss matched parts.

I agree the best way is to swap out the whole rear end with one out of Granada or Mercury Monarch. There are no stupid questions.
