Re: How much can an AA pull or haul?
Dad started driving truck in the hard rubber tire days. He drove a truck (IHC?) with a 4 cyl. Hall Scott, and would tell us what a great engine that was. "It would run 15 MPH all day" he would say. As kids we that pretty funny, but he'd look you in the eye and say "a horse can't do that".

Re: How much can an AA pull or haul?
trucks can carry surprising overloads.
in Lima Peru, 2009, we saw a very rough late 60s-early 70s GMC 1-ton flatbed delivering material to a job site. we counted the bags and figured it had about 10,000 pounds of portland cement + 2 bundles of 20' rebar on board. springs were bottomed out and tires almost flat. |

I noticed that the fellas hauling the huge logs downhill looked as though they're ready to jump. Don't blame 'em either......

Re: How much can an AA pull or haul?
"You could push it with a loader for 3 feet and it would start.Even if you were alone you could push it in gear, and when it fired you could climb out of the loader, walk up to the truck and climb in.It might have gotten 15 or 20 feet away by the time you could catch it. "
That is some funny shit... |
