No shock absorber serves as a front shock on both '33 and '34 Fords. The former fits inside the frame and the latter fits 9n the outside of the frame.

Thanks David , I edited my post . Do you have a picture of the 33 front ? It has two spots where the fill hole could go but only one is drilled . I’m going off a internet picture of ford shocks and I’m too challenged on posting pictures here . I can e- mail the reference picture I’m talking about . Or I can go and take a picture of the shock .

Thanks David . Pictures sent . I hope . After thinking about it and looking at the shock , it must be an inside mount .

Ggmac: Ford did not use the same shock from 34-36 on the rears. They are interchangeable.

The '35-'36 rear shocks have a greater capacity and are therefore have larger housings compared to the '34 rears. As Terry points out, they are functionally interchangeable.
What distinguishes the '33 shocks from the '34 rears are the filler plugs. The '33 plugs are about an inch long, have a hex head, and are at an angle to the shock body. The '34 filler plugs are about a 1/2" long, have a square head, and fit perpendicular to the shock body. |
