A few more... No rust thru anywhere. Believed to be original paint. Mostly original interior. Recover on the rear seat bottom. No rust in the rear seat pan. Really nice car.IMG_20111006_115247.jpg

That car is a beauty, are those the original pinstripes I see? I am glad you saved this car from the torch. Here's the proof that a 28-29 light bar will fit on a 30-31 car. The price was right, too. Thank you, Mal.

Yep RcT, light green pinstripe. Darker than the loud green repaint on the wheels. Engine serial number indicates May, 1930. Autolite manifold heater cover laying on the floor in the back. No heater door in the firewall. Steel flex hose shoved thru the firewall and a rag stuffed into it. Home made seat covers. Looks like they were made from a old army duffel bag, tied on with baleing twine. Two condensers, two Wards spark plugs in the boxes, a distributor top plate, one Mallory exhaust gasket set, unopened, a full set of Universal front wheel bearings and races, rusty, a full set of Ford .060 over piston rings, new in the box, rusty, a brand new, never used adjustable reamer, Sears brand, 15/16" to 1 1/8", as new, with instructions, one jack and rod and two starting handles/lug wrenches under the rear seat. Front tires are Goodrich, without the BF. Rear tires and spare are Wards Riverside Power Grip knobby type. All are dry rotted but tubes will hold air for a couple of days.
What a thrill to discover all this. Way too much fun!

Two ignition keys and one door lock key were hanging from the GAV rod. They all work. The window crank handles are worn and the regulators are really stiff. The doors snick closed better than my late model truck. Interior door handles will not let you out from the inside, really worn out. All of the interior screws and clips are there. I can find none missing. The floor mats are not original but are so brittle they will break if you bend them the slightest. The roof is so dry it crumbles when you touch it.
I'll drop the oil pan in a week or so to check for sludge and bearing clearance and pull the valve cover to see if any valves are stuck. The oil on the dip stick looks like new Rotella but it smells really old. There is a spider residing in the carburetor venturi and must be evicted before attempting to start it. The gas tank is dry and surprisingly clean, as much as can be seen. The radiator was drained, I suspect, when it was parked. It looks great inside. Someone liked this car.
