Default white walls a little yellow

My 1929 roadster white walls are a little yellow.. Any recommendations on cleaning? Don't want to ruin them. Thanks for advise.

FWIW not Model A tires but my '35 Firestone front white walls turned a bit yellow and I did not find anything to get them white again. The side walls were very hard compare to the rear tires which I never had a problem with keeping them white.

I agree about Simple Green. Spray it on, let it sit for a couple minutes, wash with a soft bristle brush, rinse, do one more time. Finished

Try kitchen cleanser, or Clorox, or "maybe" a good scrub with acetone & 0000 STEEL WOOL to get down to a better layer of white?? I've sometimes had to wet sand them with a medium grit wet type sandpaper. I'm sure you'll find some WHITE, down there, SOMEWHERE?? If all else fails, use a HIGH QUALITY, PROFESSIONAL, BLACK LEATHER DYE!!!--LOL--I couldn't RESIST saying that, PLEASE forgive me.

The initial whitewalls on our fordor turned a very nice shade of tan shortly after putting them on the car, and before it was ever driven. Fortunately, we had purchased these from Coker Tire, and they agreed to replace them given my inability to ever get them back to a clean "white". The second set was better, but still prone to turn brown despite having used all of the standard whitewall cleaners folks typically recommend. I did not realize just how brown this second set was until a friend parked next to ours while both cars were having upholstery work done... so I called Coker again, and again they have agreed to replace them subject to an adjustment for wear. This third set seems to be holding up, but I've still got my fingers crossed. If you still have a fair amount of tread left, I might suggest that you consider contacting the tire company you purchased your tires from to see if they might be willing to work with you on this. I've been impressed so far with the folks at Coker.

I use a product called Spray Nine! Let it sit a couple minutes and the brown runs off the tires. Wash it off and spray once more and brush with a regular car wash brush. Amazing results !

Old, but very good!

Paint a thin coat of straight Murphy's Oil Soap on your whitewalls. Let set about 20 minutes.

Scrub lightly with a soft brush and clear water. Let dry.

You will be absolutely amazed! Super white!

Wesleys bleach white - works great! Wally world has it as most auto parts stores. Spray it on and watch them turn white, regular ol scotch bright pad very light rubbing then hose em off, will be "bleach" white

I've used Bleche-White for fifty years. Nothing's better.

Another vote for Wesley's Bleach White. I have used it for years and never found anything better.

If you have Firestone and they are from Coker Yes they will yellow. I have always run Goodyear and they don't yellow , at least mine don't. Wesley's and a little comet cleaner and brush will work wonders. Have fun modelAtony tony white Lafayette, LA

I'm the the Wesley's Club as well.

Go to the drive-thru wash, work your way around the car from one wheel to the next. Grab a stack of Quarters and hit them with 'Rinse' from about an inch away. Works Wonders.

Also, Bleche-White seems to have an indefinite shelf life.

I have w/w on several of my cars. The Firestones all yellow and the Goodyears do not. In my opinion you get what you pay for. Wayne
