I have a couple of brake cross shaft assemblies and don't know witch one to keep or what years they apply to. The part numbers are 48-2468 and 40-2468.

I tried a search but didn't have much luck.Any help would be appreciated.

48 2468 is 1935 and maybe will interchange with '36. 40-2468 is 1933-34.

Willit, do you have a green book? All of these part numbers are in it. There was CD versions that are reasonably priced. It is very helpful in many ways.

I'll have to check, I believe some of the supplies here on the Barn carry the CD. I prefer the one that has like 13 different reference books on it.

Brake cross shaft mechanism #48-2458 is used on 35-36 Ford passenger cars and light commercial vehicles. Picture posted below, and is also shown in The EFV-8 Clubs 35-'36 Ford Book on page 88.
