Default Ford 94 adjustable main jets - Yes or no?

Do Ford 94 adjustable main jets have some merit, or are they just a gimmick? I'm running 3x2's (redone by Charlie) on a 302 and think I'm running rich. My main carb has 53 main's with 7.5 PV, the other 2 have 51 mains and no PV's.

Thanx

Jets are easily replaceable with known sizes. Why would you want jets with unknown adjustments? For the sizes on your carbs now, I would think smaller, like down to .046 would be better for multiple carbs.

I'm curious. Which "Charlie"? I'll bet it's the wrong one.

Let me put it this way. If it were Charlie Schwendler, you wouldn't be on here asking questions. He makes damn sure anything he puts out will perform 100%.

In my 3x2 Flathead it was pain to change jets for primary(center), so I put those adjustable
ones in. With A/F meter adjusting was easy and it has stayed same for years. No complaints.
Your results may vary.... BTW , my opinion is that adjusting without good A/F meter is waste of time....

The adj jets are not what you want.

Well shit... I was wrong. Thanks for dropping his name! It was Charlie S that did my carbs, and after going back and reading our email chain from a long time ago, he did send me some 51 jets for the main if I thought the main was to rich! Time to go play with some jets.

Man, the memory ain't what it used to be. This getting old shit sucks!

Yea, I was looking at the AEM wideband meter to use with the adj. jets. Still might do it as its almost $500/hr for dyno tune in my area.

Do you have the adjustable ones in the secondaries also, or just the center main?

Just the centers. A/F meter is way to go. Two channel is great but not mandatory.
