Vacuum Source From Offy Intake
I'm adding an Offy 1090 2 X 2 intake to my '40 Tudor and see that it does not have a provision for a vacuum source. It looks like some come with a vacuum port under the rear carburetor, and that would be easy enough to add, but I need vacuum both for the brake on the distributor and the wipers. I'm thinking that the wipers (when operating) could cause a fluctuation of the vacuum signal going to the distributor. Would it be best to add a vacuum port under each carburetor or would a single T connection work?
Thanks, Bobby |

Re: Vacuum Source From Offy Intake
There are adapters that go under the carb that draw from both barrels that you can put under each carb that will give you ports for both the wipers and distributor. I just bought a pair from Dave Tatom for my old Eddie Meyer intake manifold.
There are probably many sources for these. Dave makes his own for adding a PCV to the system. http:''www.davetatom.com |

Re: Vacuum Source From Offy Intake
The Offy 1090 has "equalizer runners" between the two carbs, so there is no separate vacuum source for each carb---- all vacuum is the same vacuum, take from one, take from all.
So, it doesn't really matter where you get it from. |
