Default Happy Birthday America! Who's parading/overheating today?

I'm just sorry that Ford didn't get the first shot at this ad campaign.

Had our local parade yesterday on the 3rd with 109 vintage & show cars participating. Over heating prevented with the parade starting at 10:00 am and the cars at the head of the line after the color guard and grand marshal. No stopping and starting in a hot afternoon sun.

Just finished a 1 1/2 hour neighborhood parade. No Model A's overheated but a few hot rods and muscle cars did.

Single car parade. Drove the Tudor to town and got supplies, dropped off gifts, etc. Flying the American flag on one side and confederate on the other.

You'll never guess what just flew over my house, about 400 feet, by the time I got in the house, got my camera and back out again, it was gone....a Stearman Biplane.

We had rain, which postponed the parade and kept a lot of the antiques at home. My son drove my roadster and I drove the sedan. Pics of us waiting for the weather to clear.

Few of the antiques showed due to the rain, but we live about 5 min away, so we decided to go over and see what was going on. After about a 40 min delay, we were off.

No parade here, but we took all the cars around the block to celebrate.

mhsprecher---- nice cars also. Your '28 Roadster looks a lot like the one we had but had to sell to settle an estate situation Can't keep 'em all. Ours originally had the black top was a Sept. build, someone replaced that top w/ the light colored whipcord top like they used thru June 1928..... if I could have kept that car that was the first thing that was going to be changed back. Your's looks good! Spare tire cover is identical to what came on my early '29 Tudor that we bought in '71...................

It's nice to see there are still places in America where you can leave things outside.. I know it's bolted down but that doesn't mean dittly squat around here. You could kiss it goodbye when the scrap prices rise

16 cars from the Sooner Model A Club lined up for our annual parade and picnic. A great time was had by all.

The undesirables around here know that I have four security systems around and in my house. Cameras, lights, bell and a Beretta 9mm. I sleep very very light, old Army habits are hard to break and those habits I don't want to break.

We both will be in a parade next year, for sure, if we still exist.

I'm always home at night and up and down all night. Plus everyone in the county knows I suffer from four PTSDs, WWI, WWII, Korea and Vietnam!!!! I say the Spanish-American War too but you'd know I was bullshitting you then.

Savannah, you're in Savannah???!!!!!!!!!!! I remember Savannah being mention once before, I think the conversation went something like:

Scarlett: Atlanta!
Mammy: Savannah would be better for ya. You'd just get in trouble in Atlanta.
Scarlett: What trouble are you talking about?
Mammy: You know what trouble I's talkin' 'bout. I's talking 'bout Mr. Ashley Wilkes. He'll be comin' to Atlanta when he gets his leave, and you sittin' there waitin' for him, just like a spider. He belongs to Miss Melanie...
Scarlett: You go pack my things like Mother said.

That's the way my old jalopy always runs. I didnt know there were any Rebels in California, bet you got some funny looks.
Honestly, it was no big deal around here, until the medial got ahold of it and made it one.
I got a broke leg this year, was forced to ride around in my old 55 with just the good old American flag flying....no clutching for me.
Hope everyone has a safe and Happy 4th!

I bought my cars pretty much as is, except for the b/ws on the sedan.

It is a Nov 28 roadster, So the top is correct. Too bad I couldn't get the Ford logo on right. It came that way and I once tried to straighten it without success.

Jeff, sorry you had to sell. I have had this one a little over a year. My son loves driving it. I enjoyed enlisting him to drive so that I could have both of my cars in the parade.

It was pretty cool here, so no overheating. A bit earlier in the week neither were in shape for the parade, but I got both fixed. We waxed both cars yesterday, just in time for the rain. We have had about 10 in. in the last two weeks!

My daughter took this picture of six of the MARCOM entries at the Squantum, MA, parade today. My car is second in line. Some of the skyline of the City of Boston is visible across the water in the left side of the picture.

Sarah is tuck away back in her berth. It was a nice day weather wise. Had a great meal, tender grilled BBQ pork steak, baked beans seasoned with smoked bacon and grease, spud salad and a few Schlitz. After that last Schlitz, a quick run to the outhouse. Now I'm going to lean back in my chair, have a fresh cup of coffee and watch "Pride of the Yankees".

Cheers all, great pictures and good company.................

Ed and Sarah
