1936 BB DEMONSTRATOR survivor
Hey guys I thought I would share some pics of a truck a friend of mine just found and bought. This thing is awesome,27000 miles it has the pto lift and a winch on it.He has not done anything to it as of yet,I'm urging him to get it inside the garage so it dosen't deteriate. He's not a car/truck guy and stumbled into it.He wanted to repaint it a different color and I told he should NOT touch the truck in ANY way other than get it running and driving. He also has all the stake pockets for the bed and two of them have the Demonstartor panels still fully intack.I tried to inform him how important it is to leave the truck alone, hopefully he will listen. He's had guys stopping trying to buy it but is not sure what he's going to do,nor does he have any idea what it's worth.I told him to let me know before he did anything with it,as I maybe would be intrested in it but I'm not sure what it's worth either.I think the big dent in the roof would pop out.The rest of the truck is real nice.Enjoy the photos, there not that good all I had was my phone.

WOW!!!! What a find. I would love to have it. Sneak over when he isn't looking and put a good coat of wax on it.

Re: 1936 BB DEMONSTRATOR survivor
I'm no expert so if I'm incorrect please correct me or if I leave out info add to it.To those that are unfamiler to what the Demonstator was it was a program Ford dealers came up with,Try before you buy.So they would let you use the truck and see how it worked.I think they were suppose to repaint the trucks and sell them as used units after the model year, apparently this one slipped by.I've seen a pickup pictured here of a untouched one but thats the only other one I've seen. Please add info if anyone knows of.
Thanks Joe |

Re: 1936 BB DEMONSTRATOR survivor
My dad had a 36 1-1/2 ton Demonstrator 15-20 years ago. It was no where near as nice as the one pictured above, but you could still read DEMONSTRATOR on the cab and see the V's on the wheels. It was pretty rough and it got parted out. I think the cab went to Sweden.

Anything at all done to this truck that does not make it go or stop will devalue it. The dent in the roof can probably be made a lot better by a good metal smith. Right now original patina is no replaceable and people are seeing it's value. This really is a great find.

Re: 1936 BB DEMONSTRATOR survivor
Here's a few images from 1936 of these stake bodied demos on 2 different advertising mailers. These Demonstrators were a big part of Ford Dealers selling campaigns in 1935 and 1936 PLEASE..DON'T DESTROY THIS ORIGINAL EXAMPLE!!!!!

Don't tell the Board of the EFV8CA about these trucks, they might want to (not) write a book about these old survivers.

Another vote for keeping it as is. Just make it safe to drive and then drive it. It's a beaut.

Re: 1936 BB DEMONSTRATOR survivor
If he wants a run of the mill old truck, just have him bring that one to a meet. Someone would surely trade a completed driver for it in a second.
And to think I thought original script parts were neat to have on an old truck... original rare paint scheme in good condition... that's a whole different animal. |

Re: 1936 BB DEMONSTRATOR survivor
Looks like the name on door is Shellinger in Menomonee Falls while the sign is Schwister in Milwaukee,so was it used by a business other than the dealer?Thank god they didn't paint over the rest so we can appreciate it years later.Too cool.
