40 swaybar on 36
Just wondering if it is possible to install the 40 swaybar on my stock 36?
What is needed, perch bolts and/or ????? |

Yes, but it is not without some work. The two arms of the '40-'41 swaybar must be bent inward to match the axle pin location of your '36. The '40-'41 axle pin is longer than the '36 so it must be re-drilled for a cotter pin and some extra threads need to be added.
The best way to add a '40 sway bar to your '36 and keep a factory-like appearance is to swap an entire '37-'40 front axle assembly for your '36. This will allow for a bolt-in of the '40 swaybar. As an added bonus it spreads the wishbones out making it "somewhat" easier (still a nasty job), to remove the oil pan. This is what I have on my '35. Tom |

fwiw, i attempted to install a `40 sway bar on my stock `37 1/2 ton and it wouldn`t work. the front cross member interfered with the sway bar.
